Stocking filler gift guide
It is officially that time of year again where we start to think about Christmas. All the beauty advent calendars have already been released and sold out and end of October is when the Christmas decorations come out in John Lewis. So it doesn't feel like you are the only one that is starting to think about it that early. I have already started my yearly watch of Harry Potter, which always helps with the festive spirit and so does spreading my Christmas shopping out. I like to start it early, so it is a little bit more financially manageable and I go into January easier and not so gloomy. I may buy one or two of the larger presents and then I'll focus on the stocking fillers first. I actually enjoy Christmas shopping this way, instead of always worrying how much money I'm spending in one go. My family and I buy a few stocking fillers each, so that it is a joint effort to fill everyone's stocking. We agreed a few years ago that we would no longer put rubbish in them and we would put the extra effort into finding things that person would actually use. Here are a few ideas of things that I have in the past put in my family's stocking and it has gone down really well, in case you are needing the inspiration. All of these are under £20, with the desired price point being under £10.
1) Chocolates
This is an essential in a stocking and my personal choice would be to stay away from the novelty chocolate such as chocolate coins, as the chocolate isn't actually that nice. Instead opt for the favourite chocolate of the person you are buying for, which in my case is Lindt and this new tiramisu flavour looks great.
2) Socks
Everyone needs a pair of socks, whether it's for everyday, it's running socks or fluffy socks. Find out what type of socks the person you are buying for would prefer and go for that. I would make really good use out of running socks myself or a pair of socks like below for wearing round the house. These are particularly boujee and you don't need to go this expensive if you don't want to.
3) Hot Beverages
In Winter, I love a fancy hot drink and this cinnamon dolce latte one is delicious. It's a bit naughty, without spending the price tag of a takeout coffee regularly. A fancy tea or a matcha mix could also be a good idea if that's the drink of choice.
3) Face Halo's
All the ladies in my family use these and they last forever if you get the black version. I swear we all wait until Christmas every year to receive a new set of them to last the next year. They are the perfect first cleanse before you go in with your cream cleanser and leaves your face feeling super fresh. You can buy them singular if a 3 pack is out of your budget.
4) Hand cream or lip balm
If I was buying for my Mum or Auntie, then this hand cream set is such a good deal and you could even share it and give them two each. For my sisters however, this below Refy lip gloss mini would be the perfect stocking filler for them to try this trendy lip product.
5) Face masks or foot masks
A face mask is always greatly received and this below one is a great brand at a great price. For a Man, I might swap a face mask with a foot mask.
6) Mini fragrances
I love this idea as I received some mini fragrances last year from a brand called Floral Street and I liked one of them so much I have requested the full size version for Christmas this year. This brand Kayali is meant to be really good too and 8 is a good amount of different testers to try.
7) An Umbrella
We live in the UK, so an umbrella is always a must. This is a really small and dinky size to fit into a small ladies handbag, which is always necessary. I also like that the case looks like it would keep any dampness contained, so you can put it back into your bag before it has dried if required.
8) Candles
Nothing screams Autumn and Winter more than a candle and I love the design of this candle, it's really simple and aesthetically pleasing to go with any home décor. The idea of a candle smelling of a buttery croissant makes my mouth water.
9) Therma flask
I have been wanting one of these for ages for when I need to go in the office in the morning. If you live in a City and commute to work or even you have a long car journey, this is a must to give you your caffeine fix in the morning. I took a picture of this one that I particularly liked in Costa as I couldn't find it online. You'll have to go into a Costa to buy it, but I loved the simple Autumn theme of it.
10) Shout stain removal wipes
My final stocking idea is the shout wipe and go wipes that I recently discovered. Lydia Millen was talking about these and they are absolutely essential. I love wearing creams and neutrals, but I am also very clumsy. If you spill a little bit of coffee or food down yourself, all you have to do is give it a little wipe and it disappears!! If you are in the US, the Tide to go pen does the same thing.
