Autumn/Winter Lookbook

Autumn/Winter has got to be my favourite time of the year.  It’s when I get most excited about fashion and spend the most money!  I want all the blazers, jackets and coats and this year I have found myself falling into the 90s Autumn and Winter style category.  I want everything oversized and classic.  I have been replacing all my blazers with oversized boxy fits and going for classic maxi shapes and collars when it comes to coats.  I feel as if I have really stepped into my style and my comfort zone and I am really enjoying dressing this season.  These eight looks I have picked are all high street and to be honest mostly H&M! H&M has been absolutely killing it recently since they have had a little rebrand, but as usual all the best bits sell out.  I am writing this post only a few days before posting it, so I really hope some of it is still in stock and I will try and post alternatives if it isn’t.  My style inspiration is very 90s, The Row and Max mara if I was to sum it up and I feel like Mary Kate and Ashley and Dakota Jonson do that really well!  If you ever want some style inspiration, just have a look at their outfits and it really helps.

LOOK ONE–

This is maybe my favourite outfit of all eight, although there’s some close calls.  This one feels like the typical 90s style suit you see people wearing in the movies with the tailored tapered trousers and an oversized structured blazer.  I have these tapered trousers in seven different colours from H&M and they are amazing, costing only £19.99 or something silly!  They carry me all year round, I wear them with waistcoats and Shirts in Spring and Summer and blazers and coats in Autumn and Winter.  This blazer is also perfect, it has a really good boxy fit and all I do is use the hairband trick to push the sleeves up.  Finally, these shoes screamed The Row to me and I think they make this look pull together and look super classy and stylish.  Everything in this look is actually H&M!

LOOK TWO –

Brown is the colour of the season as I am here for it.  These trousers, also from H&M are such a gorgeous fit and can be styled to be super relaxed with a t-shirt or styled up like this with a belt and heeled boots.  This jumper is from GAP and I can confirm it is the softest jumper ever.  I was really struggling to find a brown jumper that looked like it was good quality without breaking the bank and then I fell upon this one.  I don’t usually shop at GAP so this one was a risk, but I can confirm the quality and the price was great.  Finally, I have pulled this look together using this suede belt from River Island.  I saw someone wearing this on TikTok and I immediately had to order it as it looks identical to a belt I saw on Khaite and obviously a fraction of the price.  When it gets chillier, I will be throwing over a big brown coat and going full out with the brown tonal look, which is my favourite!!

LOOK THREE –

The jeans are old from H&M, but they always give my outfits a 90s feel with the mom jean style, so I will try and link something similar.  This oversized H&M jumper is such a statement, and I love that when paired with the black flats, it just does all the talking.

LOOK FOUR –

Burgundy is also one of the colours of the season and here is how I would wear this trend.  This blazer is a brown cheque, but has a bit of burgundy running through it.  I actually got this from Vinted and it was such a good find.  I really do recommend to everyone to try and look for blazers and basics from Vinted first, because you never know what you might find.  I have got many good pieces from there.  I really like the contrast with the black underlayer and then pairing the burgundy shoes and bag with it to match.  These Loafers are from H&M and they looked so similar to the Gucci ones that I couldn’t resist them.   This Coach bag was a Christmas present from my husband last year and I’m really pleased to see that Burgundy is still very much in style, so I can get my wear out of it.

LOOK FIVE –

Out of all my looks, this is the most trend led one.  I’m aware leopard print jeans might not be in style by next year, but I don’t mind buying a trend piece every now and then.  I have already worn these so much that it has been worth it.  I enjoy styling them classically as I find it tones them down.  Here I have styled them with a classic black cardigan and some red loafers I bought from Vinted.  I have also previously styled it with all black, black loafers, t-shirt and blazer and I love that and also all beige.  I have found it is a more versatile piece to style than I realised.

LOOK SIX –

This a great look and grey is always a classic for Autumn and Winter.  All of these pieces were bought last year actually from various different places, except the shoes.  The shoes are the mesh ballet flat trend that I can only wear probably during warmer Autumn weather, before moving on to boots.   I bought them this year and have been really enjoying them. The leather trousers were na-kd fashion and the blazer H&M.  Again, here you can see me enjoying the boxy oversized blazer and I think a pair of good straight leg leather trousers are an absolute essential in Autumn and Winter.

LOOK SEVEN –

This is the most classic of my looks.  You can’t go wrong with simple ballet flats, jeans and a trench coat.  These are the Chanel ballet flats and I’m also wearing a Vintage Burberry trench coat, but you can absolutely buy pieces that looks similar on the High street.  Although if you did want to invest, I would say these are super classic and the perfect investment.

LOOK EIGHT –

Another day and another tonal look.  My go to style to look chic is to wear a tonal look.  I find the simpler your outfit is like this, the easier it is to throw in a little trend piece, and it looks elevated.  For example, I am wearing Snakeskin loafers here which is on trend, but when paired with this tonal look looks really classic.  This oversized mohair jumper is going to be so warm in Winter, although I will be honest and say it’s rather itchy, but I have seen people say when it has been washed it softens, so I am praying for that.  My bag here is a very simple H&M suede one and I like how it subtly matches with the tones in my shoes.  Suede is also a big trend this season that I have been enjoying.
