Affordable gift guide
We are 4 weeks away from Christmas and by now you should have started your Christmas shopping, or if not this is your que to start. This is going to be a £30 and under affordable gift guide as personally I think that is a reasonable budget to gift family and friends. If your budget is higher, then you can see my Luxury gift guide that I will be posting next week. I find this category a little bit harder as you still want to gift something that is luxe, but has the lower price tag, so it just take a little bit more research. It helps if you know the person well and can tailor the gift to them, or they have sent you a list to guide you like my family do. But if not, then I have come up with 10 categories below, to help steer you in the right direction. Try and stay with the classics or go with well known brands if you are unsure. There are repeats from previous years on here, but I have up to date links. If you want to look at my previous blog posts, I have them linked here also for extra inspiration.
1) A Book and Tony's Chocolate tasting set
I love this category as it can be as broad as you like. You can gift a cookbook, a coffee table book or a novel if they are a real book worm. I received the Dishoom cookbook a few years ago and it is perfect as it doubles as a coffee table book and a cookbook. It has the most delicious recipes inside and it is also the most beautiful book. Gifting it with chocolate is just the perfect top up gift and perfect duo. I love Tony's chocolate and these little mini's allows you to taste all the flavours. You may want to choose Lindt or any other delicious chocolate.
2) An Umbrella
This is England and an umbrella is an essential. Holland Cooper is such a popular brand at the moment and can you believe you can buy one from them for under £30? I would absolutely love this, it would make any outfit look extra chic in the rain.
3) Slippers
The ultimate luxury during Winter is a new pair of soft and fluffy slippers. My favourites are from M&S and they do them every year and I love to treat myself or get gifted a new pair every year. There's nothing more snuggly than putting a pair of socks on and slipping your feet into a brand new pair.
4) Skincare set
Skincare is one of the most luxurious things you can gift someone as personally I struggle to splurge on the expensive brands and end up sticking with the High Street Brands. I would absolutely love to receive this set or any of the popular brands. Elizabeth Arden is an absolute classic that has been around for years. I have recently bought the original balm and it is absolutely incredible. I use it as eye cream, face cream, hand cream and many more things and I would love to be able to introduce someone else to it. Another option is to find out what someone's favourite brand is and see if you can find a set you can buy that fits in your price range.
5) A hamper
What do you gift someone who has it all? Food!! This is a really good gift for someone that you really don't know what to buy for. Everyone likes receiving food, so either go for something super classic or find out if they are a cheese or chocolate person. M&S and Next have really good options.
6) Personalised quality street
A personalised quality street box is such a nice gift for someone to keep year on year. Find out if someone has one and if they don't, then gift one. If they have one already, find out their favourites as you can now buy bags of individual flavours and you can buy a few of those so they can fill up their box. You can't buy the personalised boxed online unfortunately, you have to go into a John Lewis store and order one.
7) Fragrance sets
My favourite fragrance at the moment is actually the Apothecary M&S range. The scents are really warm and wintery and they honestly last all day. You can buy a three piece fragrance set for £16, or just one full size for £18 and then maybe get a hand cream or body butter to go with it. These fragrances have been a game changer for me this year as it has de-influenced me from the crazy price points of brand fragrances and that I don't need to buy them to smell amazing all day.
8) Earrings holder with a pair of earrings
If you know someone who is a bit of a jewellery lover, then this is such a cute little gift. You can't go wrong with a classic pair of pearl drop earrings and this beautiful little stand to keep them on display. Accessorize is also such an underdog with their gold plated jewellery. Their pieces are affordable and great quality.
9) Candle warmer lamp
This candle warmer lamp is such a genius idea if you like to have a candle burning a lot through the evening. You get that cosy feeling and the glorious smell without the fire hazard. Lots of people struggle with having to repaint their ceilings from the smoke of the candles and this will eliminate that. Imagine being able to fall asleep with your candle burning and there being no risk of a fire.
10) Travel jewellery box
I love a weekend away and always struggle with how to transport my jewellery, so I end up not bring a lot which is a shame. This little travel jewellery box would be perfect for me to be able to bring all my pieces so I get to enjoy them on my little trips or my long trips away. I love this luxurious green velvet colour too.
